Your privacy

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SEO Expert Gold Coast (ABN 43 650 288 225) collects, uses, stores and shares your personal information when you visit this website, contact us, subscribe to our newsletter or become a client. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

If you have a question about your information, call 07 5628 2543 or 0434 196 585, or contact us online.

1. Who We Are

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean SEO Expert Gold Coast, ABN 43 650 288 225, of B7/50-54 Railway Street, Mudgeeraba QLD 4213. "You" means anyone who uses this website or our services.

2. The Information We Collect

We only collect the information we need. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:

  • Contact details, such as your name, business name, email address, phone number and website address.
  • Enquiry details, such as what you would like to achieve, your monthly marketing budget, an offer code, and how you heard about us.
  • Job application details, such as the role you are interested in and anything you tell us about your experience.
  • Client account details, such as billing details, and the access you give us to your website, hosting, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads, Google Business Profile or social media accounts so we can do the work.
  • Technical and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, how you move around a page, and the website or advert that sent you to us.

You can visit this website without telling us who you are. If you choose not to give us some information, we may not be able to reply to your enquiry or provide our services.

3. How We Collect It

  • From you, when you fill in a form on this website, subscribe to our newsletter, call, email or message us, or meet with us.
  • Automatically, through cookies and similar tools when you use this website (see section 6).
  • From others, such as a person who refers you to us, public business listings, or the Google, social media and analytics accounts you give us access to.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • reply to your enquiry and prepare any free report or audit you ask for;
  • provide, manage and bill our services, and support you as a client;
  • send you our newsletter and marketing emails, if you have agreed to receive them;
  • consider your job application;
  • measure and improve this website and our advertising, including Google Ads;
  • protect this website and our forms from spam and misuse; and
  • meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

5. Website Forms and Newsletter

When you send a form on this website, your details, the page you sent it from and your IP address are saved to a secure file on our web hosting account, outside the public part of the website, and then emailed to our team. We save a copy first so that no enquiry is lost if an email fails. Form emails are sent through SMTP2GO, an email delivery service, or through our web host's mail server.

Our forms use simple spam checks, such as a hidden field and a timer. They do not use cookies to track you.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address to send you short marketing updates. Our newsletter is sent through Mailchimp, which stores your email address and tells us whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time. We follow the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

6. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. This website and the services below use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use the website and to measure and improve our advertising.

  • Google Tag Manager loads the analytics and advertising tags on this website.
  • Google Analytics tells us how many people visit, which pages they view, how long they stay and where they came from. We use this information in summary form.
  • Google Ads conversion tracking tells us when someone who clicked one of our adverts contacts us. We may also use Google Ads remarketing, which lets Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to show our adverts to people who have visited this website before, on Google and other websites.
  • Microsoft Clarity records how visitors scroll, click and move around our pages, as heatmaps and session recordings, so we can make the website easier to use. By default, Clarity hides the text you type into forms.
  • Google Maps is embedded on our contact page and may set its own cookies when it loads.

Google and Microsoft process this information under their own privacy policies: see how Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of personalised Google adverts in Google Ads Settings, opt out of other vendors' personalised adverts at Your Online Choices, and stop Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The website still works if you block cookies.

7. Who We Share It With

We only share your personal information when we need to, with:

  • service providers who help us run our business, such as our web host, SMTP2GO, Google, Microsoft, Mailchimp (our newsletter platform), and our accountant and bookkeeping software;
  • platforms we manage for you as a client, such as Google Ads or social media, only as needed to deliver your campaign; and
  • anyone we are required or allowed to share it with by law.

Our service providers may only use your information to provide their service to us.

8. Overseas Storage

Some of our service providers, including Google, Microsoft, SMTP2GO and Mailchimp, store or process information outside Australia, such as in the United States, New Zealand and the European Union. We choose well-known providers that protect personal information, but they are not bound by Australian law in the same way.

9. How We Protect and Keep It

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, form entries are stored outside the public part of our website, and access to client accounts is limited to the team members working on them.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires, such as tax records. We then delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

10. Access and Correction

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it. Contact us and we will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are first. If we cannot give you access, we will tell you why.

11. Questions and Complaints

If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can put it right. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

12. Other Websites and Children

This website links to other websites, such as social media and award sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies. This website and our services are for businesses, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
